Roosevelt Mall

This is one side of a tree lined mall that was dedicated by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt following the Great Depression. He established a WPA program in the Park to give employment to New Orleans residents. There are over 100 oak trees of several types of oaks on this mall. I have an archival photo of President Roosevelt riding in an open convertible on this street the day he dedicated it. This is the mall for which I was trying to get a grant to save the oaks. What man proposes, God disposes.
I did a PaD earlier in the summer on this mall titled Lovers Lane. Note the cement bench upside down--the power of nature.

It will take time for your once lovely park to regain it's strength & glory; but have no fears, Coleen, for you know that God will recreate what man has allowed to be destroyed.
