Where Did All the People Go

Lafreniere Park_Metairie, Louisiana

Because the evacuation order has not been lifted yet, very few people are back in the New Orleans metro area. The egrets are having a grand time in Lafreniere Park and were walking the raised boardwalk two by two just like people.
A good rain will help clear up this murkiness and the Park will be beautiful once again.

It's certainly nice to have a family like yours. This is such a nice shot of this lookout bird. He's probably hoping the people stay away so he can have the place for himself.

Yes, it is nice to have family and nice for the birds to have you. Lovely sense of hope for the future in this image.

It looks bewildered. My heart breaks for those still searching for family...despite it all you are so lucky to have your family gathering close by.

Glad to hear things are coming together for you! The egret seems to be pondering whether or not he should go in.

I hope there are plenty of good fish for them. Are those twp white Ibis? and a terrapin at the top of the frame?

It's wonderful to see the Egrets seem unaffected by this whole disaster.

Amazing isn't it. Glad to hear Breland and Gayle are giving you support (no surprise) and that things are soooo slowly beginning to right themselves.

Well, they are in their element. Hope they stay in clean water! Beautiful shot, Coleen.
