Blackberries and red and green and.....

Montz, Louisiana

I just had to get another one in today. After I took my ship's photo I stopped in the Spillway to shoot these blackberries. We would pick buckets of these after school when I was growing up in Montz. I wanted one of these very badly but just knew if I stuck my hand in there a water mocassin would get me. This berry patch is next to a small canal.

other sizes: small medium original

I still pick black (dew) berries every year and put up about 15 - 20 pints of jelly.
Picking beries is something I have done all my life... and have tried to pass it on to my children.

My nephews and I picked 14 gals.of these berries on spring in the late 1950's.My dad and I was chased by a bull another time. These were fond memories.Beautiful picture, but, the berries we picked were as big as your thumb!

I picked some the other day along the tracks. Makes me want more. Blackberry wine would be nice also!

Wow they look good and so big. I hate snakes however I don't think I could resist the temptation : )

I like how clear your focus is on those berries. This is a very nice picture, though I am not sure if it is because of those berries or because of those pretty colors.

I almost posted some of these yesterday. I ate the ones I photographed. They were delicious. Very nice shot of these colorful berries.

Amazing how a suggestive photo can make the mouth water. I have a suggestion: Maybe you could rustle the brush and spook any slithering reptile to another location then have some else reach in there for you. Thanks for the image!
