Fond recollections

Montz, Louisiana

As a child I had friends who owned this property, a family with many children. We played for entire days in this barn. A rope tied to a rafter enabled us to swing out the window of the loft and we would do that until we were exhausted.
The barn doesn't look any less sound today than it did then, but I don't believe there are any children playing in it.

Nice photo...I like the angle you chose. The good old days when
we didn't have an worries in the world. Sometimes...I would love to
go back to them.

That'a a great barn Coleen! Can see why you'd want to spend hours there. It's unfortunate that kids don't seem to enjoy the same kinds of entertainment as us old folk.

Rarely do our childhood environments survive to be revisited. This is a treasure.

That's corrugated tin. Houses were shingled in slate or cypress, then tin came along and people thought it was "the thing." It does seem to last forever.

I'm always amazed at the metal roofs on southern barns,
they're seldom seen up north. Beautiful image Coleen with
lots of memories.

It's great that the barn still looks the way you remember it as a child. And, it is a very handsome barn. I like this photo very much.

What wonderful memories, and it is neat that this old barn is still there. The child in us never really leaves!
