The rapidly rising Mississippi has caused concern of flooding. Elevations of an inch an hour will bring it to flood stage. In order to prevent the flooding of the City of New Orleans, the Corps of Engineers may open the Spillway in March.
This would be the FOURTH opening in ten years.
