One of the most photographed places in the United States, Oak Alley sits at the end of a long allee' of Live Oaks that were planted centuries ago before the house was built. It sits on the Great River Road about 300 yards away from the Mississippi River.

Beautiful plantation house and those old southern live oak trees are amazing! V.
Can you imagine people who planted the trees almost 300 years ago - they had seen only the small and young trees in the alley. But they knew it would take ages to make this magical sight, still they were ready to leave their work to next generations rather than not to do it at all.
And now we can admire this magnificent tunnel and the house.
