Historic preservation and restoration take a lot of time and money.
Thirteen young live oaks were planted in early summer to represent the 13 generations who lived in the house. However, Hurricane Issac at the end of August flattened the oaks and they had to be straightened and some replanted. Such is life in southeast Louisiana.

I cannot wait until the pitched roof goes on and the bannisters etc. Then, it will look like it did a century ago.

Tarp is off the roof, deck and porch is up, got his trees in a row, Norman is moving right along! We wish him luck with this project!

Nice capture. I really enjoy seeing the young oaks in the foreground as well.
