Heron and Snowy egret fish in raging water in Bonnet Carre' Spillway

The Mississippi River is rapidly rising with all the rain upriver and the water from the Ohio River and all the tributaries that feed into it. Just in the two hours I was sitting there, oh so still so not to scare the birds, the water had crept up to my car and I was almost stuck in the mud.
I think the Spillway will open in about 10 days and will stay open for six weeks, my prediction.

It doesn't seem to deter this fisherbird. Great timing and beautiful capture of the heron with the egret in the background.
