The Egrets are Gone and the Old Cathedral Cypress Tree Stands Alone

They left overnight and abandoned the nests they had begun building.
I guess they did not feel safe after what the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers did to this rookery in the season of 2010 with dogs, noisemakers, flares etc. I do hope that the people in charge of this one day feel the pain.
However, the birds left me a note.

I hope they found a secure spot to rebuild.

Such a shame, guess they do remember last year's nightmare.

They left? I'm so sorry. A beautiful area. It is so sad that they abandoned this place. Stupid Army Core of Engineers.

What a sad ending, hope the birds will soon find a better place and build their nest on time.

So sad. One wonders where they went. Maybe they found a better place.

Oh dear... it seems odd that they would all go in a snap like that. I wonder if something "happened" last night. This makes me feel so sad.

What a shame. So at least they have a great sense of self-preservation!
Lovely scene of blue, blue sky.
