Henry Howard House Inn Barely Escapes Fire

Prytania Street in New Orleans

Though embers burned parts of the house, the Henry Howard House still stands. A Presbyterian Church, built in 1901 burned in what turned out to be a six alarm fire in the Garden District in New Orleans. Strong west winds kept firemen busy checking the entire area for flying embers.
See Previous of what the house looks like in daylight.
Over 100 firemen responded to the fire. Photo courtesy of Officer Matt Patin of the New Orleans Police Department.
