I took this last year on a wonderful and beautiful morning just after sunrise to show the newly opened bridge replacing the one destroyed in Hurricane Katrina.
Today this beach is closed because of the oil. Too bad we can't collect it and put it in our pockets; what a waste.
We are having deluges and thunder and lightning because of Tropical Storm Alex. Too much deja vu.
According to our weather specialists, one of whom I live with, the wave action out near the spill can be helpful in breaking up the oil more quickly; however, the wave action also brings it into the shore more quickly. Que sera, sera.
