City Park's Great Lawn Dedication Attended by Thousands

New Orleans City Park.

Following Hurricane Katrina the floodwaters from the broken canal levees flooded this area for three weeks and left it in deplorable condition. Now, almost five years later it has been restored to its 1930's beauty.
Thousands came out for the dedication and to hear the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra play in the Peristyle. Music lovers brought small tables and set up with tablecloths, candlelabra, and served wine, cheese, fruit and many other delicacies.

It's so good to see this park "back" after all the devastation. Well worth a grand celebration!
