After weeks of looking, I found a few egrets that I think are from the rookery. They do not seem to have the excitement as they did when they were all together in the little piece of swamp. Many of them still try to return to the rookery each day but the watchdogs are there with their noisemakers, flares, aluminum birds and dogs.
