It's Christmas Time in the City

New Orleans' Roosevelt Hotel Lobby

When I was a child this hotel's name was The Roosevelt Hotel. This block-long lobby was decorated with arches of angel hair and lights each Christmas and it was truly a children's wonderland.
In later years under a new owner, the name was changed to the Fairmont Hotel.
Following the flooding in Hurricane Katrina in 2005 the hotel acquired a new owner who, sensibly, changed it back to the Roosevelt and reopened it two months ago. His intention was to bring back the angel hair lobby but fire codes prevented him from doing so. This is beautiful, but not nearly as beautiful as the white angel hair with lights.

Fantastic. Looks just like my front room. Well, the wee Christmas tree in the corner, at least.

What a spectacular and impressive display. It's hard to imagine this being better, even with angle hair.
