Grand Isle on the Gulf of Mexico

Grand Isle, Louisiana

Grand Isle is just up and running from the devastation of Hurricane Gustav in 2008.
Hurricane Ida is now entering the Gulf. The Mayor of Grand Isle has cancelled school classes for tomorrow and will decide in the morning if the Island should be evacuated. The threat of high tides and rough seas from the hurricane are the main issues.
No one should take this storm lightly, at least no one in the coastal areas; even those of us in the Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas areas are warned of tides and rains above normal. Remember the old saying "once burned........".
And, just when we thought we had escaped for the year.
