Water is pouring through the cracks between the pins in the structure and rushing to Lake Pontchartrain. The road between Montz and Norco is mostly under water.
Environmentalists enjoy this activity of the River and wish the Corps would open a few of the pins to allow more River water to flow into the Spillway and the marshes of the Spillway.
