The painting on the Refectory wall was done by Dom Gregory DeWitt in 1948. The Refectory did not get climate and humidity control until three years ago, yet the paintings of Dom DeWitt have remained beautiful and vibrant for over half a century. He mixed his own paints and it is believed he had a special formula that preserves his work.
The window coverings were also designed by Dom DeWitt, a Benedictine monk from Holland.
