As noted by an astute visitor to my site this is not the "Peltophorum pterocarpum" that I had initially listed.
It took a bit of digging since every reference to Delonix regia produced photos of the classic red poinciana.
Persistence paid off and a separate var. flavida was located which is yellow. It is much less common than the red of course.
This specimen is found in front of the Linekona School on Beretania Ave., Honolulu
