Kibale Forest is located in western Uganda near the city of Fort Portal. We stayed in Fort Portal and spent a day exploring Kibale Forest National Park. In the morning we went to the park ranger station off the Kampala highway and arranged a guided walking tour. The guide attempted to find variour birds, primates and mamals for us, but did not have much luck. We saw a few monkeys and lots of trails where the smaller Forest elephants had made their way through the jungle recently.

In the afternoon we drove further into the park to Kanyanchu camp. We did a self guided walking tour and saw a few more monkies. If I am ever back this way a gain I will stay at Kanyanchu and arrange for guided walking tours from there.

We did not have time to visit the many other attractions in the Fort Portal area.
