bikes: Lemond and Serotta road bikes, Trek 6700 mt.bike
how I support my bike habit: Jack, my terrific boyfriend and I work at Owens-Illinois
best time on the bike: all rides, hard, easy, long, short...they're all great.
worst time on the bike: when I've unintentionally ended up off the bike...crashes.
motto: make it happen
post ride food: toasted English muffin with peanut butter and jelly
favorite website: the webs I like to look at are in the corner of my living room, truth is, I do very little with the computer.
other: I'm actually a runner turned cyclist. I ran marathons in the 70's and 80's with Boston ' 78 best time of 2:58.
In the early 80's I competed in a few ultra's including the Edward Payson Weston Memorial 6 day raceand a 24 hour run.
I started triathlon racing after that. Completed several half irons and the S.O.S. in the Catskills. My focus now is on cycling.
The past few years I have competed in events that are close to home: Giro of Otisco, Owasco Flyer, Empire State Games,Senior Games, Tour de Loop and Hollenbeck.
grab bag: special thanks to my daughter Mindy for putting up with a work-out crazy mom and for her encouragement...
"Mom, you should: join the Velo Bellas, try to qualify for the senior nationals, buy that bike...that would be so cool."
