GOALS:
This may take awhile.... 1. Tri: Qualify for USAT National Championships-done (how 'bout Worlds??), 2. Cycling: Learn how to road race like a real roadie. 3. Time Trails: Get strong enough to scare Yvonne 4. Learn how to swim (for the fish really) 5. Complete my first half Ironman competition-done.
Velo(s) I Ride: A Trek 1500 w/HED Alps, Quintana Roo Caliente, aka "The Hornet" & the ever faithful old Trek mountain bike... aka The Jalopy...
How I support by Bike Habit: Got Debt? Mo' Money? I manage a mortgage pipeline for Countrywide Home Loans.
Best Time on the Bike: My first Olympic distance tri, Los Angeles Int'l Triathlon - I smiled from start to finish of the bike and still had the fastest split in the age group.
Worst Time on the Bike: I'm picturing trying to get around any 10 year old kid on a bike (or not a bike for that matter) on a bike path.
My Motto: Wow! This is sooo cool!
Favorite Post-Ride Food: A Konos (in Pacific Beach) late breakfast... big breakfast #2.
Favorite Web Site: velobella of course!
Grab Bag: My dad was a recreational cyclist, and I can't tell you how happy he is to see me enjoying my new found sports. My husband is my inspiration. He's an amazing athlete and friend. He showed me it's all possible, and made me a cyclist first. I'm looking forward to some road races. Everyone has their stories, I do have mine too, I made it out of the wheelchair and straight into life back in 2000. But it's the people like my swim coach, who is 3 years younger than me and already a cancer survivor, that inspires me - there really is more to life than you think. I just know most of my time on a bike is spent smiling and laughing. Not to mention, have you even noticed it feels like you're flying? How cool is that!!?!
