Bikes I ride: 2007 Kona Jake with pink bar tape, Giant Igauna moutain bike, and Giant TCR road bike
How I support my Bike Habit: Processing student loans. Fun stuff. My husband works in a bike shop, so he EP’s stuff for me.
Best Time on the Bike: Last fall during ‘cross when a girl who beat me all mountain bike season showed up and I dropped her like it was nothing. On the ride home, that “What a feeling” song from Flashdance came on the radio and it’s been the keystone of my trainer I-pod mix ever since. How geeky is that?
Worst Time on the Bike: No specific incident, just a composite of all those freezing cold days when my legs feel like crap, my fingers are numb, I’m still a hour from home if I push it, and I really don’t feel like pushing it.
Favorite Post-Ride Food: Big ol’ breakfast, regardless of what time it is.
Grab Bag: I love cats. I have three of my own and feed numerous other outside kitties. I was drawn to Velo Bella not just because I want to promote women’s bike racing, but because I love the kitty logo. I pretend it’s me and my lap-cat, Campbell, who is a big black guy that probably wouldn’t mind riding in a basket.
