Race Category: Women 3 road, Mtb Sport, Cross "B"
Residenze: Salinas, Ca
Résumé: work in progress Corral Hollow, 2000 1st Lucent Women's Challenge 2001 6th Mt. Hamilton 2001 4th Pescadero 2001 5th San Ardo 2001 2nd SurfCity Cross Series "B" 35+ 2nd
My Bikes: Look KG281, Steelman Manzanita, Steelman Eurocross
How I support by Bike Habit: Teach 1st grade reading (great on rewards, low on tips)
Best Time on the Bike: Riding portions of Tour de France course in the French Alps, absolutely biker heaven!
Worst Time on the Bike: The second week I started riding, my husband invites me to join him on a ride up Fremont's Peak. This is a 5 mile steep climb. Since I had no bike of my own to ride, I rode his bike with an 11/21 gearing. "Do you want to join me on a nice bike ride up Fremont's Peak, honey? We can do some hill repeats, It will be fun..." AAAAaaagh.....
My Motto:
Favorite Post-Ride Food: Cheeseburger, Beer, Fries and Beer
Favorite Web Site: Still searching
Grab Bag: As a former runner I would like to encourage anyone who is thinking of bicycle racing to just get in there and do it. It took me much too long to finally start cycling seriously. It all looked very intimidating. One day I just raced. No training, crappy bike, I could have finished last, yet it was such a thrill I was simply hooked. Life is too short to be spent thinking about doing something, so just go for it!
