Petite Resume: March 2006- Bought a road bike. Joined TCSD (where I met the TCSD Bellas) Learned to swim... Thanks Courtney. April 2006- 1st club race triathlon. Hyperventilated during the 300 yrd swim in Glorietta Bay, but redeemed myself on the bike. Hammered my heart out and even dropped some boys. May 2006 -Mission Bay Spring Sprint Triathlon. June 2006- Encinitas Tri. Survived the biggest waves known to man:) Didn't know what duck diving was about until after the race. July 2006: San Diego International Tri and Solana Beach Tri. August 2006- AFC 1/2 marathon. Also rode 256 miles in one week on my bike:) September 2006- Superfrog 1/2 IM. Completed first 1/2 ironman.
Goals: Cycling: 1000 mile month. Race in a crit. Become a cat racer. To drop as many boys as possible in races and in group rides. Tri - 5:45 at Ralph's 1/2 IM next spring. I'm going to have to work harder at swim practice. This one is a big one I think if I work hard I can do it. After all I'm a Bella. Full IM (it's gonna be a few years). Psyche: To never loose my passion for riding. To never get so caught up in racing or training that I view riding as a chore.
Velo(s) I ride: A project 1 custom Trek Madone. The perfect Bella mobile. She is pink with blue flames. It's helping to improve men's cycling. What self respecting guy drafts off a girl on a pink bike?
How I support my Bike Habit:I am a registered nurse in the ICU.
Best Time on the bike: My first century. Rode 100 miles to celebrate my birthday this year.
Worst time on the bike: I've bonked a few times, flatted a few times, and ridden poorly on occasion. Never ever will I classify a bike ride as a bad time.
Closest to a bad time on the Bike: The time I didn't ride. In 2002. I walked into my garage ready to ride and my road bike was missing. My road bike sleeps in the house now. It was a tough lesson to learn.
My motto: I drop boys
Favorite Post Ride For Breakfast:I eat hills for breakfast. The rest is just details
Grab bag: I grew up in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan. Think rural. No shopping malls, no movie theatres, not even a 7-11. I grew up downhill ski racing & I love going fast. In San Diego cycling fills my need for speed.
