Résumé: Ten ever-lovin’ years! Finished Big Bears nats in the snow. Rode the Otter in the rain, rode the Otter in the rain, again... and again, world without end - Pass the bottom brackets, thank you, I’ll have another. Got lost on the way to Pine Flat, even though I’d been there before: who knew you could gamble away your prize money at the nearby casino, it’s just a wrong turn away, just don’t ask me which wrong turn. Showed up to a race on the wrong day: Five hours in the car, one night at the Motel 6, one week early - I got there first, that means I win, right? Picked acres of dirt out of my teeth, trashed oodles of bike parts, won a few races, stood on some podium steps, took home the little medals (mom’s all about the medals), earned a Cali State jersey, size XXXL (sized so that I can wear it along with six of my closest friends, because sharing is better).

How I support by Bike Habit: Worked in a bike shop (flat fixes galore), Maxed out a student loan or two (that’s what they’re for, right?), misappropriated a few research grants (shhh, don’t tell), and enlightened (ha!) a few undergraduates. Ph.D., History, U.S. Foreign Relations.

Best Time on the Bike: Do I have to pick just one?

Worst Time on the Bike: I wonder what those palm trees would taste like? Mmm, does that dirt look yummy. And hey you, yeah you in the car, are you going to finish that Big Gulp? Why do the car people always have extra large sodas when I’m bonking? And why is there always a head wind? Secrets of the universe.

My Motto: : Come on down from the bitter barn and play in the happy hay. gravity means nothing to me, moving at the speed of sound, just going to get my feet wet until i drown. Mind over Body, Body over Bike, Bike over Hill. There’s space for a paper airplane race in the eye of a hurricane. Carpe Carpem!
