Hey Barb -

I just read the Cyclingnews diary about your crash and achilles rupture. Bummer!! I'm so sorry about your injury and I hope your recovery goes well. (My family and I know you from Bicycle Odyssey - we coach for TNT. I just discovered your diary a month or so ago - before this crash post, and now my husband and I are following your progress.)

barb, you are soooo pretty. i have a massive crush on you; so do about half of the other seattle 'crossers. congrats on your fine season. our training camp is in marin, this spring; maybe we'll see you out training on Tam... or in our dreams. xoxoxo

Hey Barb,I wanted to thank you again for the rear tire assistance you gave me out back by Alpine dam.I'm crossing over from downhill mt.biking and I felt a little lost on the equipement.You were very nice and helpful and made sure you didn't crush my "male ego".

Hello Barbara,
It's Harrie from Holland I met you in Antwerp. Unfortunately I haven't spoken to you at the Worlds. You did very well, 5th not europian and a few seconds from 3rd. By the way Helen Wyman and the Dutch women were fantastic. What are your plans for this year, Barbara? Earlier to Europe for the road and the cycle-cross season?
If I can do something for you let me know.

This was my initial reaction to finding your diary at CyclingNews.com after a wandering google seach to find out if Pittsburgh is hosting part of the new PA Triple Crown:
Huh? No way! But how many Barbara Howes are there in the world? Holy crap! It IS you! [Or something like that anyway...]

I knew you from WAY back - the Winterton Street days when you were a kid, then Peabody High School after you and your folks moved down to Highland Ave. Congrats on the nomination for Worlds team and your insanely good season! I still can't believe it. Shoot me an email if you get a chance. I'd love to check out one of your races next season.
