These boats and the working docks from my hometown are long gone; a condominium now occupies the site.

Does anyone by chance have original pictures of the TERESA she is currently sitting in Curtice Ohio and is going to be moved in the next couple of weeks

I was a trap netter from the western end of Lake Erie for ten plus years. My boss Billy Fouke bought the RAY F in the mid 80s. I still remember the day we picked up the boat and sailed her to the west from vermillion. Boy that Chrysler HEMI was loud, with no muffler, just straight exhaust out of the HEMI. Caught many Perch right out of Sandusky. Billy named one of the 12 foot nets The Bank, Lifting the bank in the summer to make a withdraw as he would say. That net was sure a perch catcher, she would make one heck of a boiling water coming up from 20 feet and piled full of Yellow Perch. Those were wonderful days that I wish I could relive again. Back in the late 40's or early 50's my dad built a steel fishing boat in Toledo, Ohio He named it Teresa. I was wondering if this may be the same boat and if so is it still around. Several years ago there had been an article in a magazine about it. I don't know the name of the magazine. The boat was still running. Anyone have any information?

My father and grandfather both worked for Kishman in the late 50's and early 60's. My dad captained the TERESA, and rolled her over unloading twine one day. I have seen her in Curtice, Ohio. Later he captained the VIKING in Huron, which was one of the 3 boats bought from Wiegand Fisheries. My grandfather on my mother's side was and independent, and hauled fish to Kishman in Huron. His building and his cousin Mark's still stand in Huron today. Grew up on the Huron river with these boats......hard to get it out of system....

Thank you for posting the fishing boats that I use to work around and on. My name is Johnny Lawson and I was a trapnetter employed by The Kishman Fish Company. I knew Ray Full and he was a very nice guy. I worked on the Ray F and the Kenneth all during my summer vacations in high school and in 1980 when I graduated high school I was hired on full time. I was captain of the Ray F and the Kenneth for a short time. I worked there for a few years until they started outlawing commercial fishing on Lake Erie back in the early 80's. From there I joined the U.S. Air Force and served my country for 22 years. After retiring from the Air Force I am now settled in Mounds, OK. I work for the electric company in Tulsa, OK and have a small sheep farm. It is nice looking back to these earlier times in my life. I will say I have never worked so hard as I did as a commercial fisherman. I was the last and youngest person to learn the trade as a trapnetter. I would really like to know what happened to the Ray F and the Kenneth? Thank you.

i had 3 generations that work over years for Kishman Fish company in Vermilion Ohio , Huron ohio ,Sandusky .one ended up at end at Port Clinton fish Co the Lacourse Family

Fishing boat picture #2 is the stern of the Peggy Ann. I owned her for a while before I went steamboating. She was originally an Erie boat. I bought her from Kolbe when he closed Union Fish Company. She was lengthened twice and widened once. She was a good sea boat, but hard to hold on course because of her rebuilds. I have been looking for her in the years since my retirement. It would be nice to see where my career started. eperrine@complink.net

I worked at the Kishman Co for a couple of years when I was in my teens. I am 56 now and remember it as if it was yesterday. Ray Full, Frankie, Paul, Denny, Marty, Gary and all the rest. These pictures are just great. I was sad when it was all torn down just to build condos. Another bit of history gone forever. When will learn to preserve and not destroy. Some things just need to be left alone.

We had a boat at Jeavons boat yard for many years Im 53 now and I still remember the Kishman fish boats also the cottages that are now the sewage treatment plant and public launch ramp We were sleeping on our boatjuly 4 1969 when the storm broke the Norwalk dam what an experience that was! Thank you whoever took these pictures ,it brings back some VERY fond memories Don't suppose you have any pictures of that big blue fishing boat "Sea Hawk"?
