In the civil war, over 500,000 smart young strong americans died, and horrible deaths, much without anesthetic, fought to give people human liberty, human dignity. Some american said "Give me freedom or give me death".
I shed a tear at theirs and your personal nobility. All the luck in the world to you, in your charge of the long road to stabilizing this planet. I hope my kid can some day be alive to see what you all now are fighting to create. A stable planet one day. You are the worlds true 'freedom fighters', and the 'true heroes'.

Camp Pendelton and all USMC and US Armed forces,

Awesome pictures. They convey a life I can only comprehend about 5% of. I can not imagine what you folks are going through there, and I appreciate every drop of sweat that falls from your bodies.

I will do my best to keep your families and friends safe while you are away..

Please disregard the politically charged messages here, they are inappropriate for this gallery. I completely support each and every one of you and devour any and all media reports of your work overseas, as does the majority of this great country. All of you are making us proud, every day, please keep it up.

while i support every troop in iraq, many of whom are my friends, i don't support our involvement there.

don't forget that while good things come out of shitty situations, our involvement is still wrong, imperialistic, and a political trick used to mobilize political support. don't forget that while good things may come from what we are doing there now, we killed thousands of iraqis and americans in the process. don't forget that being in the military can only be military service, national service, and never development service.

I must thank you guys for your service and your photos. In times like this it is terribly important for you fine men and women to know that the majority of people here support you and it is good for us to see what is really going on over there.

You have so many photos that are incredibly powerful, moving and inspiring.

Once again, thank you. Those words are not enough, but I offer them nonetheless.
