Ushaw College

This college came to its present location in 1808. It is a Roman Catholic Seminary in the Northeast of England and is the main centre for training of Catholic priests. Ushaw College is the home to a number of historical possesions including the finger ring of St.Cuthbert. A unique game of squash was played at this college and the backboards still remain standing.

While at the Ushaw Bicentenary celebrations, I saw a reference to the long photo. taken of the staff and students in 1952. I would be interested in a copy of this photo since my own framed copy was lost en-route to Australia. (Ushawman 1947-1955)

I have, somewhere, postcards of Ushaw that I got when I was there in 1942-1946. There are aerial shots among them. I would look them up and put them on line if anyone is interested. As this is the first time I have tried this sort of communication, I am not sure if I can return to this site !
