Blue-throated bee-eater (Merops viridis,蓝喉蜂虎) is a medium-sized bird with a body length of 26~28 cm.Top of head top back chestnut red or chocolate, crossed eyeliner black, waist and tail blue, wing blue-green, waist and long tail light blue, central tail feather extended into a needle shape, prominent outside.Chin throat blue, the rest of the lower body and two wings green.The mouth was long and pointed, black and slightly bent down. 
They prefer open fields and woodlands in low-lying areas near the sea, and birds gather in sandy areas during breeding.Named subspecies (m.v.vridis) is an uncommon summer bird that breeds in Hubei province and south of the Yangtze river, China. In Hainan island for resident birds.Characterized by blue throat, it is of great ornamental value and is honored as "the most beautiful bird in China".
