Past and Future

West Texas

There's a desolate stretch of road in West Texas between Post and Abilene that used to have hundreds of oil wells pumping non-stop. Over the years, many of the pumps have stopped and been removed. There are still plenty of active ones, though, including this one. Now, there are also hundreds of windmills, along miles and miles of the ridge, which provide electric power.
