King Philip at the Essentially Ellington jazz Festival at Rose Hall, in NYC.
I didn't get too many good ones, but these are OK. They said they didn't allow tripods, and a parent from another band said he had been hasseled for a monopod, and other camera supporting devices in the past. So, not wanting to give KP a bad rep, I left my monopod on the floor, and shot "hand held", or used the rail to try to steady the camera. During the last performance in the third session, there was a parent from a California band running back and forth on the first balcony, with camera and monopod, getting photos of his daughter's solo. He went right past several ushers, guards or whaterver they were, without any comment. Hmmmm.....
