Cheetah

Smithsonian National Zoological Park

While walking along a path we startled a large buck (male deer) who was roaming the grounds.
We then noticed this cheetah atop it's hill pacing and intently watching the retreating buck.
This was a wonderful opportunity to capture it's intensity with the camera.

The cheetah is listed as endangered.
Their future is questionable due to there being little genetic
diversity between individuals due to inbreeding.
