I cannot get the level of detail with the 400mm lens that the macro lens provides.

Canon EOS 350D ,Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM
1/800s f/5.6 at 400.0mm iso200 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Well you may not get the level of sharpness but you are reaching parts that the macro wont lol.

I have struggled using the 400mm in this fashion but you have succeeded and inspired me to keep trying! Excellent detail, DOF and sharpness! Janet
