Ribbon Snake Emergence

Huntley Meadows Park

Using the narrow depth of field to give the appearance of it's head coming out of the blurry background.
I was pleased to get some of it's additional length in the top portion of the photo.

Canon EOS 350D ,Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro
1/200s f/16.0 at 105.0mm iso100 with Flash full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Whooaa! Too close for my comfort but I'd sure to love to have a macro lens. Wonderful shot!

I definitely need a macro lens; but it wouldn't be used in taking snake photos (G). "Down under" the little ones are just as deadly as the big-uns. Another great shot.

Yep, this is a fantastic pose and I really like the effect with such narrow dof.
