Signs of Coming Winter

Crosswinds Marsh

These geese suddenly appeared while I was photographing a swan in the light of dawn.
As they quickly passed overhead there was time to point the lens but no time to focus.
Seconds after they flew out of sight, a barrage of gunshots broke the morning silence.
Moments later a few of them returned, scattered and mournfully wondering what had happened.

There is a haunting cold chill that surrounds this photo that makes it repulsive and irrestable at the same time.

A friend who posts on pbase just called my attention to this photo. You should definitely consider getting this into a gallery exhibit. You have been magically able to combine photography and painting in this one. The "out of focus" only adds to the picture to make it appear much like a painting. I'd call it a masterpiece! I'm aware that photography might just be an enjoyable hobby to you, but after looking at some of your other photos, I see real talent. Don't keep your skills hidden; display them for a wide audience to enjoy! I have bookmarked your site to see how you do.

What a great capture!! The real beauty of nature shines through. How painful though that some did not survive the flight. Thanks for sharing Sayer.

Although Tricia is biased, I am not, Sayer. :-) This is a fantastic capture with the geese crossing an awesome morning sky. You could easily sell this one. Big Vote
