Improbable Night Heron

Robert H. Long Park - Commerce Township, Michigan

It started as a lovely evening, but turned cloudy and dim soon after we arrived at the park to take photos.
As we walked along the path, this Black-crowned Night Heron landed on a tall tree stump, only staying for a few moments.
Shooting through tree branches resulted in this improbable photo, taken with Sigmonster at 1120mm with a shutter speed of only 1/20!
