Hidden Night Heron

Robert H. Long Park - Commerce Township, Michigan

Fortunately, I saw it fly and land in the tree, otherwise it may have been missed.
The 2x teleconverter was used to double it's size in the frame, resulting in a 1600mm focal length.
Live view was used to manually focus and keep the lens still during the slow 1/125 shutter speed.
Unfortunately, the tree branches are a bit distracting, but I am still pleased with the shot.

Very nice catch. We so enjoy your nature photos. You seem quite knowledgeable too. You should publish a book.
