Bidadari - A cemetery which is going to be replaced by public housing

Maybe, maybe it's time to let go...
Seeing the empty graves left in the cemetery left quite an impact on me.
There were countless words ectched on the tablets proclaiming that the memories of the dead will be missed by their closed ones. However, in the development process of a nation state, there is nothing the living can do to save the serenity, the tranquility which the dead has been residing in for the past few decades.
Their ashes are being dug up and what remains are hollow crevices. Large monitor lizards and long wolf spiders have taken over their place. Cemeteries are just 'empty' land, land which could be demarcated, parceled out, commidified, and purchased, not for its intrinsic but potential value for speculative purposes. Is there anyone place for nostalgia in this rapidly modernizing city? What is more important in the minds of this new generation? Stable career, steady income and indulging in flux with the materialistic world, or a close knit family with support for one another whatever happens?
If anyone noticed the change in colours in this series of photos, it was because of the different feelings when I went to the place. The first part was taken just a day after my exams and venturing alone and exploring every part of the cemetery. The second part was taken many months back. I had someone to talk to then and really enjoyed the trip cos I didn't expect someone to bring me around the place.
This could be the last series i'm going to do in the cemetery, I can't bear watching even more graves bearing exhumed and statues with mutilated head lying stiffly in the 'nostalgia' land.
I believe photos tell a story.
Let the statues tell you their story in this series.

Tired, and having a fever lying alone in my room the day after
