Beautiful photo! When I read the caption below explaining how you've done it? It made me smile because the idea is quite similar to what I have created about a week ago. I thought I've done it in a unique way because I have been thinking of at least something different dea to photoshoot for my PAD and didn't know that someone already did it *smile* I uploaded it today on my ramdom gallery so you can also see it.. :o) here it is. :o)http://www.pbase.com/image/48938694

Ok, I've got a hand mirror somewhere.
Clear nail polish? Is this because it beads up better on the mirror than water would?
Nice effect! Something for me to try.

Saskia, nicely done. Lovely tones. This turned out well, but it's always worth trying some different angles. I found more upright worked better, but then again I wanted more drops to be in focus, so more upright reduced the DOF requirement.
Thanks for the acknowledgement, as I did for the guy I got the idea from.
As for the nail polish question, I'll leave that one a secret. ;^)
There are probably all kinds of liquids that can be used, but water seems to work very well as it creates more rounded drops and is very easy to clean up at the end of the shoot, although it evaporates if you leave it for too long while you experiment (and have dinner, etc, etc).
It's great to be sharing our ideas around and trying them out like this. :^)
