I was born there in 1961. It's nice to see all the pictures. I have heard stories about what the shape of the hospital was originally. That would have been visible from the air only, but then it was a Luftwaffe hospital originally and the crews would have seen that as they flew over it during WWII. That may be apocryphal. Either some wings were pulled down or it's just untrue, as the later pictures don't bear that out as far as I can tell.

i was born there in 1982, too. My father was at the RTC in Ostkilver. Maybe somebody remembers the " Birdwood Barracks?" i´m sad that it is closed now...

Thanks Jim. This is the first time I have seen a picture of where I was born too!! My dad was stationed over there in 1969.. wow.. would love to see it myself one day. x

12/12/07-I was born in this hospital, 31+ years ago while my father (R.I.P) was serving with the R.E.M.E., it's truly astounding what you can find online, this is the first time i've seen the place of my birth. Thanks for posting the images Jim, whoever you are.
