Wonderful image and, like you, I've never seen anything like this. The difference is that I have little chance to ever see anything near like this. I was thrilled out of my head when the aurora appeared here in Virginia in the form of simple glowing skies in late October, 2003. That was a real treat and only the second time in my life of 54 years I had seem them locally. I don't think I would trade weather with you but the aurora is definitely one thing I'd love to have. BTW, I'm giving this image my vote.

Hi Santa, that is certainly very unusual. Wonder if it has anything to do with atmospheric changes and the earthquake on the other side of the planet....
