RED SQUIRRELS AT FORMBY POINT

These shots were taken at Formby Point nature reserve, in Merseyside UK. Sadly the lighting wasn't up to much, very dull and overcast, so I was having to use 1600 ISO most of the time and still struggling to maintain sufficient shutter speed to avoid motion blur as they move, hence the lack of 'action' shots. I intend to return on a brighter day in the near future and try to get some shots using a lower ISO to gain better image quality and also to try and catch some of their antics with a faster shutter speed.

These appealing tree-rats are the star attraction at the reserve, they are an endangered species in England and the numbers are shrinking, there are only 2 or 3 places where they can still be found in this country although they have a slightly healthier position in Scotland.
