These butterfly macros were taken using the Canon EF 100mm f2.8 Macro and the Canon Speedlite 550EX with the Stofen Omnibounce flash diffuser. All were shot in camera Manual Mode using varying shutter speeds to either illuminate or eliminate the background. Note the relationship of shutter speed to background illumination. Neat huh? Also, all were shot RAW and processed in PS CS. All were sharpened using the USM or high pass filter after resizing for the web. Comments and suggestions welcome. ~~~ jim
