Black Bear Cubs Climbing Tree in Spring

Delaware Water Gap NRA, NJ/PA

I have worked in the field of photography education as a teacher for the last 22 years and as a photographer and park ranger for the National Park Service at Morristown National Historical Park, NJ, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area NJ, Shenandoah National Park, VA, and Yosemite National Park, CA.

I teach private one-on-one photography courses in Essex, Morris, Somerset, Sussex and Warren Counties in New Jersey and the Poconos, PA. All courses are customized to your exact needs, subject interests, availability, learning speed and the equipment you use.

Over the years, I have found private one-on-one instruction the most effective way to learn photography. I work as a photographer and teacher every day and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. In addition to the courses listed on my opening page, I offer mentoring programs in outdoor photography and professional critique and image review sessions.

I hope you enjoy your visit to this site.

Nikon 70-200 2.8 VR (my favorite lens).

The Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 VR produces images with a degree of sharpness, color and contrast that exceed the expectations of all photographers who use it.

This is one lens I donít have to worry about which aperture setting is the sharpest. Itís sharp all the way from f2.8 to f16 . My choice of aperture is totally dependent on the depth of field I need for creative effects. At F2.8, the 70-200mm VR gives a very pleasing out of focus area or ďbokehĒ (the appearance of out-of-focus areas in an image produced by a camera lens using a shallow depth of field).

The Nikon 70 to 200mm 2.8 AFS ED VR is worth every penny I paid for it. I highly recommend it.

PS. I just recently purchased the Canon 70-200 F2.8 L IS lens from B&H Photo and it's just as good as the Nikon version.

If you don't need a fast f2.8 lens and wish to save some money and weight consider the Canon or Nikon, 70- 200 f4, 70-300 or 100-300 mm telephotos.
These are excellent lenses ideal for nature and travel photography.

Please contact me for free advice on purchasing cameras and lenses. I use both Canon and Nikon. I believe it's best to to obtain this information from working photographers who are using the equipment everyday like myself. Photographic equipment can be expensive. You don't want to make a mistake. I have saved photographers thousands of dollars in the past. I can do this for you as well.

I purchase all my equipment by mail order from B&H Photo in NYC. I have been a happy customer of theirs for 25 years. Their customer service and return policy is the best in the industry.
