Santa Fe Hereford Sub in HO scale

These are pictures I've taken on my HO scale layout that represents the ATSF's Hereford Subdivision between Amarillo, TX and Clovis NM during the 1995 time period. The layout is on 2 decks in a 25' x 24' garage. There is approx 225' feet of mainline with much more track counting the sidings, staging yards and industry tracks. I host operating session several times during the year. We have a blast running the trains. See the last pic for op session shots.

This is one stunning layout. After operating on it myself I want to say it runs as good as it looks in these pictures. It faithfully replicates the Hereford Sub in 1995. Thanks Sammy for setting up such a great operating session! Hope my own layout will someday be at least in the same ballpark, extending the Santa Fe from Clovis to Belen... JRD (atsf643)

Very nice layout. I drive from College Station to Albuquerque frequently, and the highway parallels the BNSF from Texico, NM to Fort Sumner, NM. I enjoy this part of the drive, because I get to see so many trains. They run continuously in both directions, just a few minutes apart. The elevator at Melrose and the curved track at Texico (shown in your photos) are very familiar to me. Great job! Jim Boone, Texas Eagle Chapter, NRHS
