Shantou is a 3.8 million inhabitants city located on the eastern coast of Guangdong Province (South China) right on the south of Fujian Province border. Facing Taiwan, Shantou is a harbour city with the Special Economic Zone status therefore it is developping fast... Shantou and its neighbourhood is also the hometown of many Oversea Chineses :) I have posted some pictures taken in Shantou 'old city' rather than in the newer part... You don't me to show you those modern buildings and big shopping malls, do you ? Shantou is certainly much more better developped than what you can see on this gallery !
