I caught this kid under dim room lights, and one candle.
The image was helped tremendously with the Nikon 18-200mm VR lens
with its very effective VR (Vibration Reduction), it made a difference
between getting the shot, and not getting the shot.

Any kind of optical image stabilization is very useful for low/available
light shots.

Although I eventually sold the lens, I have to admit that it
was a lens I wanted to hate, but reluctantly ended up loving.
