"Turkey Hill"

Never saw a turkey high up a tree before until last week in upstate NY.

Yes, I have heard that wild turkeys can fly and go up trees, but I didn’t imagine
they could really do that…Until last week :-)

Note: Shot this with a Canon S3 IS. An old 6.2mp point and shoot that I forgot I had.
Now you know your camera fetish has gone too far when you "forget" what you
have :-)

A decent camera for its time. Sensor is not remarkable, lots of noise, but it does have nice color.
The selling point for most is the 36-432mm zoom plus image stabilization. The selling point for
me was that I got it real cheap :)

Being a prime lens guy, I'm not generally a fan of zooms especially super-zoom lenses,
but I must admit the long reach came in handy for this shot.

Canon PowerShot S3 IS
1/1600s f/6.3 at 57.8mm full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I have never seen one so high either. I am usually swerving to not run over them. A great image, Sam. ~V~

We've had them up above our house in the trees several times. That is a flight you hear!

Yes, the blues have a lot of noise. They probably sleep there at night for safety.

Looks like an old Kodachrome shot from the 70s! Definitely a great look in the late evening light of this bird. Vote

The camera did the job for you here, really cool to see a turkey up this tree! Like you said, still has those nice Canon signature colors. V
