Film: The Time Machine

"Nothing changes on New Year's Day" -U2

Here is another 'family classic' taken on January 1, 1986.
In the photo stands (from left) my aunties, my brother, and
my mom in the cold morning mist of New Year's Day 1986, some 23
years ago. The film, I believe was one of the early Kodak
iso1000 or iso1600 speed color films.

This image is not great, especially by today's digital standards.
It is not digitally sharp and clean. It is soft, grainy, and gritty.
Yet I love it.

The great thing about looking at a film image is what I call
the "time factor." Images on film may have both a dated yet
timeless look to them that's hard to describe. You just
have to use your eyes and your emotions. It's like going
back in time, but it's timeless.

It remains to be seen how 'timeless' our digital files
will become.

Interesting, thoughtful caption to go along with this treasure from the Sam Chest o Treasures. Your bro has the "speedmetal hair band" look going on.
:O)

Yes, this does remind me of a U2 cover... I was never brave enough to try anything over iso200 in those days... BV
